WARRANTS
All warrants issued by the judges of the Dayton Municipal Court are turned over to the Dayton Police Department for those persons to be arrested and booked in the Montgomery County Jail. The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is also notified to issue a warrant block.
Unique to the Dayton Municipal Court, is the availability of the court operated Warrant Enforcement Unit. This unit affords individuals, who have failure to pay or failure to appear warrants, the opportunity to report to that office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday to have their warrants disposed of through either court appearance or payment prior to being arrested and incarcerated.
Generally, all individuals with warrants must report in person. Warrants cannot be disposed of over the phone. Warrants issued for failure to pay a fine can sometimes be disposed of by remitting the amount owed to the court through regular mail.
